Korea Plus launched in Seoul


Korea Plus launched in Seoul

 

            A grand event to launch ‘Korea Plus’,a special investment facilitation team, was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul on 9 November 2016. Over 200 attendees representing over 150 companies attended the event, and over 50 business meetings were to be held with the Korea Plus team. 

2.         Ambassador VikramDoraiswami, in his welcome address, challenged Korean businesses to take the opportunities in India head on, and shared the examples of early movers like Hyundai. He also underlined the fulfillment of Prime Minister NarendraModi’s commitment in establishing the Korea Plus team, set up to facilitate Korean business in India.Mr.Nagaraj Naidu, Joint Secretary (Investment & Technology Promotion Division) in Ministry of External Affairs highlighted the sweeping reforms in India and the headline projects currently underway.

3.         A special address titled ‘Why India’ was delivered by President &CEO Mr.WONHee Lee of Hyundai Motor Company. He highlighted Hyundai’s successes in investing in India, and their continued commitment in India’s long term growth story. Director General KANG Myungsoo, Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy shared his hope that Korea Plus would usher in the next wave of Korean business in India. CEO of Invest India Mr.Deepak BAGLA gave a presentation on the key opportunities in India and introduced the Korea Plus team members. A special investor’s guidebook in Korean language was launched at the event, along with a book on Indian Tea called ‘Chai’ produced by Tea Sommelier Institute Korea. A website with the information for investors is also set to be launched soon.

4.         Korea Plus is a unique team of handpicked Indian and Korean members working together in New Delhi to facilitate joint ventures, new investment and Korean business in India. Korea Plus reports regularly to the highest authorities in the Government of India, helping to fast track important programmes, projects and businesses.
