India welcomes Korean SMEs MP invites you to India

"During my visit, from morning to evening, I could see passionate Koreans everywhere including at their offices and even at coffee shops. Like the energetic Koreans, Indians are diligent and honest. I wish the Korean and we, the Indians can build up vibrant economic relationships, and also strengthen up the family-like bonds,” said Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (MP), a central Indian state, paid an official visit to Korea to attract Korean investment in Madhya Pradesh and to promote the ‘Buy India’. Accompanied by ten of high-level government officials and business representatives, Chief MinisterChouhan hosted ‘Seminar on Investment Opportunity in Madhya Pradesh’ in Seoul on October 6th. Over 200 Korean business leaders were present. At the Seminar, Korean-translated brochures were ready for the Korean business leaders and Chief Minister, himself, gave a presentation,proving his passion and support to them.
Madhya Pradesh is the second largest state in India and its size is the twice the size of the Korean peninsula. Its population is approximately 77,000,000, equivalent to the total population of South and North Korea. It is located in the geographic heart of India and is called as the ‘Heart of India’. MP’s Chief Minister said, “Korea’s ‘SamaeulUndong’ which had played a key role in structural transformation of Korean economy from agriculture to manufacturing, is a great model for us. With PM NarendraModi’s state visit to Korea on May this year, many state governments are keen to establish partnership with Korea and invite Korea’s investment.”
Madhya Pradesh has actively encouraged Korean companies’ investment, promising to set up a Korean Industry Park. On June this year, Madhya Pradesh hosted an investment seminar for Korean companies in Delhi, and operates a desk for Korean companies. “Madhya Pradesh welcomes Korea’s big companies. However, MP is also keen to encourage SMEs in South Korea to come and invest,” he highlighted.
“We, Indians and Koreans has been good friends. A Princess from ancient Ayodhya came to Korea and married King of Korea’s ancient Kingdom, Gaya. India and Korea celebrates its independence from colonialism on the same day, Aug. 15 (India August 15, 1947, Korea August 15, 1945)”, he added. “‘Milk with sugar is also milk’ is an old proverb in Madhya Pradesh. This was originated from the nature of people of Madhya Pradesh who find great harmony and peace with people from different region. With the warm nature of Madhya Pradesh, we would like to deepen our relationship with brother-like county, South Korea.” he highlighted.
