India is keen on expanding our partnership with Shipping Companies in Picturesque City Busan

A vessel of the Indian Coast Guard, 'SARANG', is visiting the Korea Coast Guard (KCG) Station at Busan. To commemorate the shared Independence Day of India and the Republic of Korea, the Embassy of India in Seoul and ICG hosted a reception on August 15, 2015.

On August 15, 1945, Korea was liberated from Japanese colonial rule. And India became an independent nation on August 15, 1947 from Britishcolonial rule.

Dignitaries of Indian Navy and Korea Coast Guard (KCC) and leadingbusinesses in Busan were invited to the reception held on the ICG Ship 'Sarang.'

On August 15, South Korea and India became independent from the colonial rules. This year, the first India-Korea Shared Independence day event was held in Seoul and Busan

"On 15th August 1947, we won political freedom and became an independent nation from 200 year-long British colonial rule. Hosting a reception on the ICG Ship rather a reception at hotels would make this event even more special.The Embassy of India wishes to organize more events to strengthen bilateral ties," Ambassador said. "Pusan is very picturesque city with beautiful seashore and hills," he added.

Ambassador said that more events and forums would be held in Pusan. 'India-Korea Marine Supply Chain Forum' was convened by the Embassy of India on July 22 in Busan. On September 11, Indian Film Festival will be held at Pusan Cinema Center. Indian delegation from shipping industries will visit Pusan for business forum on October and November.

Saying "India is keen to work with shipping companies in Pusan," the ambassador highlighted the importance ofmutual understanding andbilateral business cooperation for further strengthening Korea and India partnership. Ambassador Vikram Doraiswami arrived in Seoul on April 2015 as the Ambassador of India to South Korea. He had served as a diplomat for 7 year in China, 3 years in USA and 2 years in South Africa.
