India & Korea, The Two-Thousand-Year-Old Cultural Partners - Interview With Indian Ambassador Vishnu Prakash

"India-Korea relations go back 2000 years ago. We are now Strategic Partners.”

 

In the morning of 7th June, an ‘India Day’ was celebrated in the Hoam Faculty Centre of Seoul National University, to mark the 40th Anniversary of establishment of Korea-India diplomatic relations. Indian Ambassador Vishnu Prakash noted that “India and Korea are the 3rd and 4th largest economies in Asia. India is also home to Bollywood, the largest film maker in the world, where more than 1,200 films are produced in a year.” He said “We will provide full support to increase youth exchanges between Korea and India.” On the recent rape issues of foreign tourists, he said, “The might of law will strictly deal with any such isolated and most unfortunate incident. Indian Police has been prompt and thorough in investigating the incident.” India was visited by around 120,000 Korean tourists last year.  

Ambassador Prakash emphasised “Indian people have affection for Korea. I hope to see many more Korean tourists, students, businesses coming to India.”
