Visa on Arrival facility for Korean tourists visiting India
Government of India has decided to introduce Visa on Arrival (VOA) facility for Korean tourists visiting India, with effect from 15thApril 2014. A decision to this effect was taken, during the state visit to India by the President of the Republic of Korea H.E. Madame Park Geun-hye in January this year.
The Korean visitors will be given a single entry Tourist Visa for duration of up to one month, on arrival at the airports. A fee of US$ 60 or equivalent amount in Indian Rupees will be charged for VOA. The facility will be available at Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi airports. VOA can be availed a maximum of two times in a calendar year, with a minimum of two month gap between the visits.
Tourists will however be at liberty to procure their visa prior to travel to India, through BLS – Indian Visa Application Center (http://www.blsindiavisa.kr/), if they so prefer.
The facility will not be applicable to holders of Diplomatic / Official Passports whose travel will continue to be governed by existing agreement on the matter between the two countries.
